c. St Lucie Mets
The St. Lucie Mets baseball club is owned and operated by the New York Mets organization. They play a total of 140 regular season games with a 70 game home schedule. Most Major League baseball operations have about 7 levels of developement in their organizations. Major league being the top of course, and then filtering down from the Triple-A level to rookie level baseball.
The St. Lucie club is about in the middle of all that; considered to be the ” High-A “ level. Playing in the highly regarded Florida State League, they compete against other minor league clubs that are affiliated with different Major League franchises; Cubs, Cardinals, Marlins, etc.
Over the past 20 years we have seen many a future Major Leaguer come thru Port St. Lucie; David Wright and Derek Jeter to name just two.
There are many promotions during the course of the summer season, including many free ticket nights. Come on out to Tradition Field and enjoy a fun ( and not expensive ) night at the old ball game.
